During my career at the USDA Forest Service, one of the outlets I used for communicating science was long-form articles. These Science Updates present readers with in-depth information about ongoing research, often synthesizing work from multiple scientists.
One of the roles I filled as a science delivery specialist at the USDA Forest Service was to nurture partnerships. My goals: share science with practitioners, improve collective efforts toward public land management, and facilitate research coproduction with partners. Click here to see the stories I wrote about successful coproduction partnerships.

I helped make scattered and inconsistent monitoring data more accessible and useful through communication and collaboration.

As a science delivery specialist, collaboration and partnerships are critical for success.

I make every effort to engage a diversity of partners, and pay close attention to their needs. I nurture these relationships, checking back with clients regularly to create an adaptive feedback loop that guides the product development process and fosters long-term partnerships.

Partner-sensing is a good way to gather feedback. I am adept at compiling this information into reports, presentations, and other documents.
Strategic planning documents
I was the lead writer for two major strategic planning efforts at the USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station. In 2015, I wrote a strategic framework that articulated the research station's role in addressing issues such as wildfire, climate change, biodiversity, and community sustainability. In 2022, I worked with a steering committee to write a 10-year research charter that outlined the station's mission and values, land management challenges, and strategic research priorities.

I love making fact sheets! I can quickly absorb technical concepts and distill disparate information into a clear, unified product that brings research to life.
